Paint Protection Film (PPF) in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
-
Paint protection film, often called clear bra, is a transparent, flexible urethane film applied over your car's painted surfaces. It acts as a physical barrier between your paint and the road. It absorbs rock chips, light scratches, bug acids, bird droppings, and everyday wear that would otherwise hit your clear coat. When the film takes the damage, your original paint stays untouched underneath.

High-quality, optically clear film is designed to be low-profile and nearly invisible. Your color, gloss, and finish should look the way they did before - unless matte or color PPF. Because it's a physical layer, you may notice a very slight edge on some panels if you look closely, especially on certain colors or textures. We'll show you exactly where the edges sit at pickup so there are no surprises. Careful prep, precise fitting, and hand-wrapped edges make the biggest difference.

No. When it's installed correctly on healthy paint and removed correctly, PPF helps preserve your original finish. Problems usually come from poor installation, cheap film, or rushed removal. That's why we start with a proper wash and decontamination, and why we recommend having film removed by a professional rather than peeling it off yourself. One caveat: PPF isn't a cover-up for failing paint. If your paint is already peeling, flaking, recently repainted or has a poor respray, this is what causes issues with the finish. Once your car has been properly prepped we'll tell you about any issues we find before we install anything.
